There are seven "pockets" in this books. Each pocket represents a unit. There is flexibility in terms of how long you would take to complete it so it could be adapted/adjusted to augment your text time period (i.e. one pocket per week or per day). I would assume a "pocket" would take 30 min to an hour to complete.
My son loves all the History Pocket books. We do one each year as part of our homeschool curriculum. They are so informative, and they keep him interested with hands on activities.
We are watching a civil war documentary and we thought this might be a good addition.
We used the American Revolution History Pockets and my kids enjoyed the activities and projects while we studied Early American History this year.
Great history supplement.
